Bolitoglossa alberchi García-París, Parra-Olea, Brame, and Wake, 2002, Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 16: 57. Holotype: MVZ 163962, by original designation. Type locality: 14 km (road) NE Sontecomapan, Veracruz, Mexico, 18° 56′ N, 95° 05′ W, at ca. 50 m elevation".

English Names

Albrecht's [sic] Salamander (Liner and Casas-Andreu, 2008, Herpetol. Circ., 38: 28).

Distribution

Known only in coastal rainforest in the vicinity of the type locality, Sontecomapan, Veracruz, Mexico.

Comment

According to the original publication in the Bolitoglossa mexicana group and in polytomy with Bolitoglossa odonnelli, Bolitoglossa lignicolor, and a group composed of Bolitoglossa striatula, Bolitoglossa mombachoensis, Bolitoglossa yucatana, and Bolitoglossa mexicana. In the subgenus Bolitoglossa of Parra-Olea, García-París, and Wake, 2004, Biol. J. Linn. Soc., 81: 335, formerly the Bolitoglossa mexicana group. Raffaëlli, 2007, Les Urodèles du Monde: 242-243, provided a brief account, photograph, and map.
