Telmatobius hockingi Salas and Sinsch, 1996, Alytes, 14: 7. Holotype: URP 116, by original designation. Type locality: "Rio Sihuas 5 km from Sihuas, Provincia Sihuas, Departamento Ancash, Peru, 2700 m altitude, 77° 38′ 14 W 08° 30′ 00 S".

Known only from the type locality (near Sihuas) and from Piscobamba, Ancash, Peru, ca. 2700 m elevation.
