Comment

See discussion by Lehr, 2005, in Lavilla and De la Riva (eds.), Monogr. Herpetol., 7: 39-64 (43). Aguilar and Pacheco, 2005, in Lavilla and De la Riva (eds.), Monogr. Herpetol., 7: 234, suggested on the basis of larval morphology that this species should be in Telmatobius, although they did not make the nomenclatural change from Batrachophrynus. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status (as Batrachophrynus brachydactylus) in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 296.
