Tributaries of Lake Junin, and highlands and neighboring cordilleras of the departments of Junin and Pasco, Peru, 4000-6000 m elevation.

Comment

See discussion by Lehr, 2005, in Lavilla and De la Riva (eds.), Monogr. Herpetol., 7: 39-64 (43). Aguilar and Pacheco, 2005, in Lavilla and De la Riva (eds.), Monogr. Herpetol., 7: 234, suggested on the basis of larval morphology that this species should be in Telmatobius, although they did not make the nomenclatural change from Batrachophrynus.
