Arthroleptis sechellensis Boettger, 1896, Zool. Anz., 19: 350. Syntypes: SMF; SMF 7179 designated lectotype by Mertens, 1967, Senckenb. Biol., 48(A): 43. Type locality: "Auf den Seychellen in Anzahl in alten Wäldern unter feuchtem Laub".

Mahé (450-950 m elevation) , Silhouette (250-771 m elevation)m and Praslin Islands, Seychelles, Indian Ocean.

Taylor, Bunbury, Chong-Seng, Doak, Kundu, Griffiths, and Groombridge, 2012, Conserv. Genetics, 13: 557-566, reported the Praslin I. population for the first time and suggested that substantial genetic differences are apparent between the Praslin, Sihouette, and Mahé Island populations suggestive of different lineages.
