Philautus truongsonensis Orlov and Ho, 2005, Russ. J. Herpetol., 12: 135. Holotype: ZISP 7407, by original designation. Type locality: "Ban Cup village, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province, central Vietnam (16° 55′ 09″ N, 106° 35′ 04″ E, 400 m elevation)".
Theloderma truongsonense — Rowley, Le, Hoang, Dau, and Cao, 2011, Zootaxa, 3098: 8. Based on specimens of Theloderma laeve according to Orlov, Poyarkov, Vassilieva, Ananjeva, Nguyen, Sang, and Geissler, 2012, Russ. J. Herpetol., 19: 46, although these authors agree with the generic transfer on other grounds.

Most similar to Philautus rhododiscus (now Theloderma rhododiscus) and Philautus petilus, according to the original publication. Orlov, Poyarkov, Vassilieva, Ananjeva, Nguyen, Sang, and Geissler, 2012, Russ. J. Herpetol., 19: 46, discussed the transfer of this species into Theloderma.
