Hyla leporosa Schlegel, 1837, Abbild. Neuer Unvollst. Amph., 1: 105. Syntypes: Including RMNH 1754, according to Gassó Miracle, van den Hoek Ostende, and Arntzen, 2007, Zootaxa, 1482: 44. Type locality: "Padang auf Sumatra", Indonesia. Nomen nudum.

Theloderma leporosa Tschudi, 1838, Classif. Batr.: 32, 73. Syntypes: originally RMNH (2 specimens) of which RMNH 1754 is the only remaining specimen mentioned by Tschudi, according to M.S. Hoogmoed in Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 550. Type locality: "Sumatra", Indonesia; incorrectly stated by Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 550, as "Padang, Sumatra", Indonesia.

Polypedates leprosus Günther, 1887, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 5, 20: 315. Holotype: BMNH by original designation and figured on pl. 16, figs. A, a, a′ in the original publication. Type locality: "at an elevation of 4000 ft. on the hills of Larut, Perak". Synonymy by Boulenger, 1888, Zool. Rec., 24: 30.
