Distribution
Upper montane region of southern and central Sri Lanka, 150-1300 m elevation, although also reported at 60 m in the Kanneliya Forest.
Comment
In the Rhacophorus (Rhacophorus) leucomystax group of Dubois, 1987 "1986", Alytes, 5: 77; see comment under Polypedates. Previously confused with Polypedates eques, by some authors, most notably Wolf, 1936, Bull. Raffles Mus., 12: 183, who considered it a synonym of Rhacophorus eques. Removed from the synonymy of Rhacophorus eques by Senanayake, 1968 "1967", J. Bombay Nat. Hist. Soc., 64: 565, where it had been placed by Kirtisinghe, 1957, Amph. Ceylon: 61.
