Comment

Not assigned to subgenus by Dubois, 1987 "1986", Alytes, 5: 77. Placed in the synonymy of Rhacophorus schlegelii margaritifer by Wolf, 1936, Bull. Raffles Mus., 12: 187. Liem, 1973 "1971", Philipp. J. Sci., 100: 154, noted that this species had once occurred on Bogor I., but is now extinct there. Iskandar, 1998, Amph. Java Bali: 90-91, provided a brief account (as Rhacophorus javanus) and noted its similarity to Rhacophorus rufipes. See identification table by Manthey and Grossmann, 1997, Amph. Rept. Südostasiens: 122-123, to compare this species (as Rhacophorus javanus) to other rhacophorids of the Sunda Shelf region. See account by Harvey, Pemberton, and Smith, 2002, Herpetol. Monogr., 16: 75-81. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph.
