Distantly isolated populations in Sichuan and Guangxi, China, presumably to be found in Yunnan; Fansipan (mountain), Lao Cai Province, Vietnam.

Comment

In the Rhacophorus (Rhacophorus) chenfui group of Dubois, 1987 "1986", Alytes, 5: 77; see comment under Rhacophorus for dissenting opinion regarding the recognition of this group. Closely related to Polypedates chenfui, according to the original publication. Fei, 1999, Atlas Amph. China: 286-288, provided a brief account, map, and figure. Orlov, Lathrop, Murphy, and Ho, 2001, Russ. J. Herpetol., 8: 36-38, discussed the Vietnam record (as Polypedates cf. hungfuensis). Fei and Ye, 2001, Color Handbook Amph. Sichuan: 218, provided a brief account and illustration (as Rhacophorus hungfuensis). Zhang and Wen, 2000, Amph. Guangxi: 126, provided an account for Guangxi. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 2: 850-853, provided an account, spot map for China, and considered this species a member of their Rhacophorus dugritei group. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2010, Colored Atlas of Chinese Amph.: 460, provided a brief account for China including photographs of specimens and habitat. Li, Chen, Li, Lv, and Wang, 2011, Asian Herpetol.
