Ixalus travancoricus Boulenger, 1891, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 6, 8: 291. Holotype: BMNH 1947.2.6.20 (formerly 1891.7.2.15) according to Inger in Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 532. Type locality: "Bodanaikanur [= Bedaraikanur = Bodinaikenur= Bodinayakanur], Travancore, at the foot of the hills on the eastern side", Tamil Nadu, India.

Southern Western Ghats Region of Tamil Nadu, southwestern India, at Bodinayakkanur, Vandiperiyar, and Vagaman.
