Philautus ponmudi Biju and Bossuyt, 2005, J. Herpetol., 39: 350. Holotype: BNHM 4257, by original designation. Type locality: "'upper sanatorium' Ponmudi (8° 45′ N, 77° 08′ E), altitude 1000 m, Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala, India".

Pseudophilautus ponmudi — Li, Che, Murphy, Zhao, Zhao, Rao, and Zhang, 2009, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 53: 519. Provisional arrangement and by implication.

Raorchestes ponmudi — Biju, Shouche, Dubois, Dutta, and Bossuyt, 2010, Curr. Sci., Bangalore, 98: 1120. By implication.

English Names

Large Ponmudi Bush Frog (Dinesh, Radhakrishnan, Gururaja, and Bhatta, 2009, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, Occas. Pap., 302: 107).

Distribution

Southern part of the Western Ghats at Gavi, Kalpetta, Mananthavady, Ponmudi, Sulthanbathery, and Vagaman in Kerala, and Valparai in Tamil Nadu, South India. .
