Philautus chromasynchysi Biju and Bossuyt, 2009, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 155: 407. Holotype: BNHS 4433, by original designation. Type locality: "Kurichiyarmala, Wayanad, Kerala, India".

Pseudophilautus chromasynchysi — Li, Che, Murphy, Zhao, Zhao, Rao, and Zhang, 2009, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 53: 519. Provisional change by implication.

Raorchestes chromasynchsi — Biju, Shouche, Dubois, Dutta, and Bossuyt, 2010, Curr. Sci., Bangalore, 98: 1120. By implication.

English Names

Confusing Green Bush Frog (Dinesh, Radhakrishnan, Gururaja, and Bhatta, 2009, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, Occas. Pap., 302: 97).

Distribution

Known from the type locality on an isolated mountain at Kurichiyarmala, Wayanad, Kerala, and about 218 km to the north at Kemmanugundi, Chikkamagalura, Karnataka, in the southern Western Ghats of South India. Presumably to be found at high elevation in the intervening area.

Comment

Dinesh, Radhakrishnan, Gururaja, and Palot, 2012 "2010", Rec. Zool. Surv. India, 110: 31-35, provided a record from Kemmanugundi, Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, India, and provided additional description and life history information.
