Mus. Zool. Univ. Michigan, 166: 24. Type locality: "Don Diego (S[an]ta. Marta Region), Colombia"; same publication on page 119 given as "heights east of San Miguel, 6,000-7,000 ft.", which Kluge, 1983, Misc. Publ. Mus. Zool. Univ. Michigan, 166: 24, regarded as the collection locality of the holotype.

Distribution
Northern flank of the Sierra Santa Marta region of the Departamento Magdalena, northern Colombia, between 1500 and 1800 m.
