Ixalus bombayensis Annandale, 1919, Rec. Indian Mus., 16: 124. Holotype: ZSIC 18782 according to the originally publication; the number corrected to ZSIC 18287 by Chanda, Das, and Dubois, 2001 "2000", Hamadryad, 25: 112. Type locality: "Castle Rock", N. Canara district, Karnataka, India.

Karnataka (Castle Rock and Londa) to Maharashtra (Ambol) in the northern Western Ghats, India, 400-1300 m elevation.
