Philautus silus Manamendra-Arachchi and Pethiyagoda, 2005, Raffles Bull. Zool., Suppl., 12: 289. Holotype: WHT 3453, by original designation. Type locality: "Agra Arboretum, near Agarapatana, alt. 1555 m (06° 51′ N, 80° 41′ E)", Sri Lanka.

Pseudophilautus silus — Li, Che, Murphy, Zhao, Zhao, Rao, and Zhang, 2009, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 53: 519. Provisional arrangement and by implication.

English Names

Pug-nosed Shrub Frog (De Silva, 2009, Amph. Rep. Sri Lanka Photograph. Guide: 115).

Distribution

Known from two areas of closed-canopy forest on either side of the Horton Plains plateau: lower central hills (1550-1600 m elevation), and near Agarapatana and Haputale, southern Sri Lanka.

Resembles Philautus microtympanum according to the original publication.
