Philautus silus Manamendra-Arachchi and Pethiyagoda, 2005, Raffles Bull. Zool., Suppl., 12: 289. Holotype: WHT 3453, by original designation. Type locality: "Agra Arboretum, near Agarapatana, alt. 1555 m (06° 51′ N, 80° 41′ E)", Sri Lanka.

Distribution
Known from two areas of closed-canopy forest on either side of the Horton Plains plateau: lower central hills (1550-1600 m elevation), and near Agarapatana and Haputale, southern Sri Lanka.

Resembles Philautus microtympanum according to the original publication.
