Philautus poppiae Meegaskumbura and Manamendra-Arachchi, 2005, Raffles Bull. Zool., Suppl., 12: 315. Holotype: WHT 3285, by original designation. Type locality: "Handapan Ella Plains (near Suriyakanda), elevation 1,270 m (06° 26′ 42″ N, 80° 36′ 35″ E)", Sri Lanka.

Distribution
Known only from the type locality (Handapan Ella) and Morningside Forest, near Rakwana, southern Sri Lanka, 1060-1270 m elevation.
