Manamendra-Arachchi and Pethiyagoda, 2005, Raffles Bull. Zool., Suppl., 12: 214-215, provided an account and noted this extinct species to resemble Philautus rugatus, Philautus cuspis, Philautus zorro, and Philautus alto.
