North-eastern part of the hill country at elevations of 300-700 m, Sri Lanka.

Comment

Resurrected from the synonymy of Rhacophorus microtympanum in the account by Dutta and Manamendra-Arachchi, 1996, Amph. Fauna Sri Lanka: 186, where it had been placed by Wolf, 1936, Bull. Raffles Mus., 12: 174. Some of the synonyms listed under Rhacophorus microtympanum may apply to this species. See Bossuyt and Dubois, 2001, Zeylanica, 6: 29, for a discussion of nomenclature and their interpretation of Article 59.3 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (1999). Manamendra-Arachchi and Pethiyagoda, 2005, Raffles Bull. Zool., Suppl., 12: 207-210, provided an account and noted that this species resembles Pseudophilautus regius, Pseudophilautus stictomerus, and Pseudophilautus sarasinorum (as Philautus).
