Comment

See accounts by Inger, Shaffer, Koshy, and Bakde, 1985 "1984", J. Bombay Nat. Hist. Soc., 81: 553, Dutta and Manamendra-Arachchi, 1996, Amph. Fauna Sri Lanka: 142-145, and Chanda, 2002, Handb. Indian Amph.: 154-155. Kuramoto and Joshy, 2003, Curr. Herpetol., 22: 59, noted that detailed comparisons had not been done between South India and Sri Lankan populations implying that such comparisons would likely allow the discovery of additional species. See account by and Manamendra-Arachchi and Pethiyagoda, 2005, Raffles Bull. Zool., Suppl., 12: 185-187, who noted that this species resembles Pseudophilautus viridis (as Philautus). Dutta, 1997, Amph. India Sri Lanka: 78, provided systematic notes, access to literature, and range. Daniels, 2005, Amph. Peninsular India: 146-147, provided an account. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 522, who restricted the range to Sri Lanka, with records from India considered to have been based on misidentifications. De Silva, 2009, Amph. Rep. Sri Lanka Photograph. Guide: 98, provided a brief account and color photograph.
