Philautus auratus Manamendra-Arachchi and Pethiyagoda, 2005, Raffles Bull. Zool., Suppl., 12: 279. Holotype: WHT 2356, by original designation. Type locality: "Morningside Forest Reserve (near Rakwana), alt. 1060 m (06° 24′ N, 80° 38′ E)", Sri Lanka.

Distribution
Closed-canopy rainforest and cloud forest in the area of the Sinharaja World Heritage Site and nearby Kanneliya Forest, southwestern Sri Lanka, 513-1270 m elevation.
Comment
Resembles Pseudophilautus pleurotaenia, Pseudophilautus asankai, and Pseudophilautus hoipolloi (and Philautus), according to the original publication.
