Most similar to Polypedates leucomystax according to the original publication. Chanda, 2002, Handb. Indian Amph.: 199-200, provided a brief account. Dutta, 1997, Amph. India Sri Lanka: 93, provided systematic notes, access to literature, and range, and noted that records of Polypedates leucomystax from the Nicobars are based on this species.
