Atelopus sernai Ruiz-Carranza and Osorno-Muñoz, 1994, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 19: 175. Holotype: ICN 04166, by original designation. Type locality: "Colombia, Departamento de Antioquia, Municipio de Bello, Serranía Las Baldías, Km 5-8 carretera San Félix-Boquerón, 6° 20′ latitud N, 75° 35′ longitud W de Greenwich, 2800-3100 m."

Distribution

Known from two localities in humid montane forest in the Serranía Las Baldías (part of the Cordillera Central), Department of Antioquia, Colombia, 2800-3100 m elevation.

In the Atelopus ignescens group according to the original publication. Osorno-Muñoz and Ardila-Robayo, 2004, in Rueda-Almonacid et al. (eds.), Libro Rojo Anf. Colombia: 198-201, provided an account and map.
