Comment

Removed from the synonymy of Polypedates megacephalus by Kuraishi, Matsui, Ota, and Chen, 2011, Zootaxa, 2744: 53-61, where it had been placed by Stejneger, 1925, Proc. U.S. Natl. Mus., 66: 30; Ahl, 1931, Das Tierreich, 55: 137; Wolf, 1936, Bull. Raffles Mus., 12: 178; and Zhao and Adler, 1993, Herpetol. China: 156. Lue, Tu, and Hsiang, 1999, Atlas Taiwan Amph. Rept.: 42-43, provided a brief account (as Polypedates megacephalus) for Taiwan. Introduced populations from Okinawa (Japan) and Guam may be of this species rather than Polypedates megacephalus. Records of Polypedates megacephalus from Taiwan apply to this species.
