Philautus supercornutus Orlov, Ho, and Nguyen, 2004, Russ. J. Herpetol., 11: 51. Holotype: ZISP 7248, by original designation. Type locality: "Bach Ma National Park, Hai Van Mountain Range, Thua Thien-Hue province, central Vietnam (16° 10′ 33″ N, 107° 48′ 23″ E, 1300 m elevation)".

Distribution
High gradient rainforests in central Vietnam in Danang, Hue, and Kon Tum provinces at 1000-1400 m elevation.
Comment
Most similar to Aquixalus gracilipes (as Philautus) according to the original publication. Nguyen, Ho, and Nguyen, 2005, Checklist Amph. Rept. Vietnam: 36, provided specific localities for Vietnam.
