Comment

See Coe, 1974, J. Zool., London, 172: 13-34, for distribution records, ecology, and breeding biology. Schiøtz, 1999, Treefrogs Afr.: 39, noted that the two nominal subspecies (Chiromantis petersii petersii and Chiromantis petersii kelleri) were as different from each other as from the other species in the genus, but retained the subspecific taxonomy pending study of geographic variation. See comment under Chiromantis kelleri. Channing and Howell, 2006, Amph. E. Afr.: 336-337, and Pickersgill, 2007, Frog Search: 299-301, provided accounts. Measey, Malonza, and Muchai, 2009, Amph. Taita Hills: 56-58, provided a brief account and photo for the Taita Hills, Kenya.
