Atelopus lynchi Cannatella, 1981, J. Herpetol., 15: 133. Holotype: KU 178412, by original designation. Type locality: "Maldonado, Provincia Carchi, Ecuador, 1410 m, 01° 00′ N, 78° 11′ W".
English Names
Lynch's Stubfoot Toad (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 39).
Distribution
Pacific slopes of northern Ecuador (Provincia Carchi) and southern Colombia (Departamentos Cauca and Valle del Cauca), north to Cisneros, between 800 and 1410 m, in cloud forest.
Comment
In the Atelopus ignescens group of Lynch, 1993, Alytes, 11: 77-87. Rivero and Serna, 1993 "1991", Brenesia, 36: 15, doubted that specimens from Valle del Cauca, Colombia, were correctly assigned to this species.
