Atelopus longibrachius Rivero, 1963, Caribb. J. Sci., 3: 112. Holotype: FMNH 54283, by original designation. Type locality: "El Tambo, Guisitó [= Huisitó, 800 m], Cauca, Colombia, 300 m, Pacific side of Colombia".

Distribution
Region of the type locality (El Tambo) on the Pacific versant of the Cordillera Occidental of Colombia, in lowland rainforest and montane cloud forest, 800-1200 m elevation.
Comment
In the Atelopus flavescens group of Lynch, 1993, Alytes, 11: 77-87. Lötters, 1996, Neotrop. Toad Genus Atelopus: 33, suggested the possibility that the elevation of the type locality was a typographic error in the original publication.
