Rana luzonensis Boulenger, 1896, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 6, 17: 401. Syntypes: BMNH (4 specimens), by original designation. Type locality: "Highlands of Lepauto [= Lepanto], N. Luzon", Philippines. Synonymy by Taylor, 1922, Philipp. J. Sci., 21: 259; Inger, 1954, Fieldiana, Zool., 33: 304-305.

Rana guerreroi Taylor, 1920, Philipp. J. Sci., 16: 255. Holotype: EHT 881, by original designation; probably now CM according to Taylor, 1944, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 30: 138, although not located in CM, USNM, FMNH, KU, or AMNH by Brown, McGuire, and Diesmos, 2000, Herpetologica, 56: 81-104. Type locality: "Baguio, Mountain Province, Luzon", Philippines. Synonymy with Rana luzonensis by Taylor, 1922, Philipp. J. Sci., 21: 259; Inger, 1954, Fieldiana, Zool., 33: 304-305 (under Rana everetti luzonensis); Brown, McGuire, and Diesmos, 2000, Herpetologica, 56: 81-104.

Rana tafti Taylor, 1922, Philipp. J. Sci., 21: 265. Holotype: EHT 1849, by original designation; now CAS 61819 according to Slevin and Leviton, 1956, Proc. California Acad. Sci., Ser. 4, 28: 537. Type locality: "mountains near the Pacific coast of Luzon on the trail between Famy, Laguna Province, and Infanta, Tayabas Province", Luzon, Philippines. Synonymy with Rana everetti by Inger, 1954, Fieldiana, Zool., 33: 304-305, tentatitvely with Rana luzonensis by Brown, McGuire, and Diesmos, 2000, Herpetologica, 56: 86.

High-gradient streams in rainforest on Luzon as well as several associated islands, Philippines.

Fuiten, Welton, Diesmos, Barley, Oberheide, Duya, Rico, Brown, and Erwin, 2011, Herpetologica, 67: 99, suggested that the biogeographic distribution of nominal Sanguirana luzonensis warranted careful systematic evaluation.
