Atelopus halihelos Peters, 1973, Smithson. Contrib. Zool., 145: 22. Holotype: AMNH 16716, by original designation. Type locality: "Ecuador: Morona-Santiago Province, Cordillera Cutucú".

Morona-Santiago Stubfoot Toad (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 39).
Distribution
Known only from the type locality in cloud forest of the Cordillera Cutucú, Morona-Santiago Province, Ecuador, ca. 1875 m elevation.
