Atelopus famelicus Rivero and Morales, 1995 "1992", Brenesia, 38: 29. Holotype: KU 145050, by original designation. Type locality: "La Costa, Departamento del Cauca, Colombia".

Atelopus negreti Ruiz-Carranza, Vélez-Rodriguez, and Ardila-Robayo, 1995, Caldasia, 18: 113. Holotype: ICN 32897, by original designation. Type locality: "Colombia, Departamento del Cauca, Municipio El Tambo, Corregimiento 20 de Julio, Hacienda 'El Tambito' de la Fundación Proselva, ca. 2° 28′ latitud N, 76° 50′ W de Greenwich, 1380-1580 m." Synonymy by Ruiz-Carranza, Ardila-Robayo, and Lynch, 1996, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 20: 367.

Distribution

Known only from the region of the type locality on the western slope of the Cordillera Occidental of Cauca, Colombia, 1380-1580 m elevation.

Comment

Previously confused with Atelopus longirostris and Atelopus lynchi, according to the original publication.
