Atelopus chirripoensis Savage and Bolaños, 2009, Rev. Biol. Tropical, 57: 382. Holotype: UCR 8042, by original designation. Type locality: "from a boggy pond on the southeastern side of the Fila Norte, ca. 4 km N Cerro Chirripó Grande, Parque Nacional Chirripó, Cordillera de Talamanca, Distrito Limón, Cantón Limón, Provincia Limón (ca. 9º 32′ N, 83º 29′W), at ca. 3 400-3 500 m above sea level."

Distribution

Known only from the type locality on the southeastern side of the Fila Norte, ca. 4 km north of Cerro Chirripó Grande, Parque Nacional Chirripó, Cordillera de Talamanca, Distrito Limón, Cantón Limón, Provincia Limón, Costa Rica.

In the Atelopus ignescens group according to the original publication.
