Rana macrotympana Yang, 2008, in Yang and Rao (ed.), Amph. Rept. Yunnan: 78. Holotype: KIZ 94001, by original designation. Type locality: Yinjiang, Great Yinjiang Lake and its tributaries, Yunnan, China, 300 m elevation.

Distribution
Irrawady drainages in Yunna, particularly in the Yinjiang region, China; presumably to be found in adjacent northern Myanmar.
Comment
Should be compared to Odorrana tiannanensis/Odorrana megatympanum (DRF). Yang, 2008, in Yang and Rao (ed.), Amph. Rept. Yunnan: 72, provided a brief account (as Rana pleuraden) for Yunnan, China.
