Ansonia minuta Inger, 1960, Fieldiana, Zool., 39: 493. Holotype: FMNH 77424, by original designation. Type locality: "in primary forest at 450 feet above sea level at Matang, First Division, Sarawak", Malaysia (Borneo).

Tiny Stream Toad (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 39).

Minute Slender Toad (Das, Jankowski, Makmor, and Haas, 2007, Mitt. Hamburg. Zool. Mus. Inst., 104: 141).

Distribution

Western and central Sarawak (Malaysia) and adjacent western Kalimantan (Indonesia); also Sabah (Malaysia), Borneo, 200-1000 m elevation.

Comment

See identification table by Manthey and Grossmann, 1997, Amph. Rept. Südostasiens: 26, to compare this species with others in the Sunda Shelf region. Matsui, 2006, Curr. Herpetol., 25: 1-14, reported the species for Sabah, Malaysia. Das, Jankowski, Makmor, and Haas, 2007, Mitt. Hamburg. Zool. Mus. Inst., 104: 141-174, provided a photograph and natural history information.
