Bufo mcgregori Taylor, 1922, Philipp. J. Sci., 21: 182. Holotype: EHT 1468A, by original designation; now CAS 61839 according to Taylor, 1944, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 30: 127, and Slevin and Leviton, 1956, Proc. California Acad. Sci., Ser. 4, 28: 535; reported in error as destroyed in WWII by Van Tuijl, 1995, Bull. Zool. Mus. Univ. Amsterdam, 14: 127. Type locality: "near Pasonanka [= Pasonanca], Zamboanga", Mindanao, Philippines.

McGregor's Stream Toad (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 39).

Distribution

Mountains of central and western Mindanao, Philippines (see comment).

Placed in the synonymy of Ansonia muelleri by Inger, 1954, Fieldiana, Zool., 33: 242, but resurrected by Inger, 1960, Fieldiana, Zool., 39: 501. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 158. Sanguila, Siler, Diesmos, Nuņeza, and Brown, 2011, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 61: 333-350, reported on molecular phylogeography, reporting two unnamed lineages in western Mindanao.
