Distribution

Scattered localities on the humid Atlantic coastal lowlands from eastern Nicaragua to southeastern Costa Rica and in the humid premontane and lower montane areas of upland Costa Rica, including the Meseta Oriental and Meseta Occidental and probably the Cordillera Central.
