Bufo leptopus Günther, 1872, Proc. Zool. Soc. London, 1872: 598. Syntypes: BMNH (2 specimens) according to the original publication. BMNH specimen "a" (the adult figured in pl. 18, fig. 4 by Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2) considered lectotype by Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 287, as part of his redefinition of the species; BMNH 1947.2.20.51 (formerly 73.4.25.3) considered holotype by Grandison, 1972, Bull. Brit. Mus. (Nat. Hist.), Zool., 23: 49, this being Boulenger's lectotype. Type locality: "Matang", Sarawak [Malaysia (Borneo)].

Ansonia leptopus — Inger, 1954, Fieldiana, Zool., 33: 239.

Ansonia longidigita gryllivoca Inger, 1960, Fieldiana, Zool., 39: 483. Holotype: FMNH 77397, by original designation. Type locality: "in primary forest in the Sungei Tawan, a small tributary of the Kalabakn River, Tawau District, North Borneo [= Sabah]", Malaysia. Synonymy by Inger and Dring, 1988, Malayan Nat. J., 41: 461.

Ansonia grillivoca — Cochran, 1961, Living Amph. World: 82. Incorrect subsequent spelling.

Distribution

Isolated localities at low elevation in Borneo; peninsular Malaysia, and Sumatra.
