Distribution

Known only from the crater lake of the type locality (Lago de Las Minas, about 6 km southeast of San Jose Alchichica, Puebla, México, elevation 2324 m).

Comment

Endangered by groundwater pumping, and most closely related to Rana tlaloci, Rana neovolcanica, and Rana spectabilis according to the original publication.
