Rana novae-guinea Van Kampen, 1909, Nova Guinea, 9: 37. Syntypes: ZMA 5670, 5761-73 (Sabang), 5771 (Bivak I., Loretz River), 5775-76 (Lorentz River), others in EHT (presumably lost or in UIMNH, FMNH, CM, or CAS) and ZSM; ZMA 5761 designated lecotype by Daan and Hillenius, 1966, Beaufortia, 13: 124. Type locality: "Noord-Fluss being Sabang", "Noord-Fluss bei Bivak-Insel", and "Noord-Fluss"; restricted to Sabang, Lorentz River, western New Guinea (Indonesia), by lectotype designation.

Distribution

Lowlands of southern New Guinea between Yamur (Jamoer) Lake and the Purari River.
