Comment

Confused with Hylarana chalconota prior to its naming according to the original publication. Malkmus, Manthey, Vogel, Hoffmann, and Kosuch, 2002, Amph. Rept. Mount Kinabalu: 159-160, provided an account for Rana chalconota that presumably applies to this species. Inger and Stuebing, 2009, Raffles Bull. Zool., 57: 534, commented on the range.
