Comment

Prior to the revision of Frost, Grant, Faivovich, Bain, Haas, Haddad, de Sá, Channing, Wilkinson, Donnellan, Raxworthy, Campbell, Blotto, Moler, Drewes, Nussbaum, Lynch, Green, and Wheeler, 2006, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 297, placed in the Section Hylarana, subsection Hydrophylax, subgenus Sylvirana of Dubois, 1992, Bull. Mens. Soc. Linn. Lyon, 61: 326, although this taxonomy is now superseded. See accounts (as Rana (Hylarana) leptoglossa) by Boulenger, 1920, Rec. Indian Mus., 20: 145; Bourret, 1942, Batr. Indochine: 314-316. Chanda, 2002, Handb. Indian Amph.: 121, provided a brief account. Orlov, Murphy, Ananjeva, Ryabov, and Ho, 2002, Russ. J. Herpetol., 9: 90, rejected the occurrence of this species in Vietnam, considering that record likely a misidentified Rana nigrovittata. Nutphund, 2001, Amph. Thailand: 101, provided a brief characterization and photograph (which Ohler, 2003, Alytes, 21: 101, did not consider identifiable beyond the association with Sylvirana). Chan-ard, 2003, Photograph. Guide Amph. Thailand: 130-131, provided a very brief account, map for Thailand, and photograph. Dutta, 1997, Amph. India Sri Lanka: 159-160, provided range, systematic comments, and partial taxonomic bibliography. Mahony and Reza, 2007, Herpetol. Rev., 38: 350, provided the Mymensingh Division, Bangladesh, record and discussed briefly the range. Lalremsanga, Sailo, Kharbuli, and Hooroo, 2007, Frog Leg, 13: 9-10, reported the species from the state of Mizoram, northeastern India. Ahmed, Das, and Dutta, 2009, Amph. Rept. NE India: 45, provided a brief account for northeastern India. Mathew and Sen, 2010, Pict. Guide Amph. NE India: 81, provided a brief characterization and photograph and suggested that the species had been recorded in Vietnam. Mahony, Hasan, Kabir, Ahmed, and Hossain, 2009, Hamadryad, 34: 80-94, provided a new record for Bangladesh and discussed the known range in that country. Hasan, Khan, and Sumida, 2011, Herpetol. Rev., 42: 562-563, provided a record for northeastern Bangladesh (Sylhet Division) and commented on the range.
