Rana jimiensis Tyler, 1963, Rec. Aust. Mus., 26: 126. Holotype: AMS R14711, by original designation. Type locality: "Manjim, Ganz River", Jimi River Valley, Western Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea.

Distribution

Central and western New Guinea in the Sepik, Ramu, and Jimi River systems north of the central mountain range.

Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 297, placed in Section Hylarana, subsection Hylarana, subgenus Tylerana of Dubois, 1992, Bull. Mens. Soc. Linn. Lyon, 61: 329. See Menzies, 1987, Aust. J. Zool., 35: 373-418. See also Donnellan, Adams, and Aplin, 1989, Herpetologica, 45: 336-343, for taxonomic concerns. Günther, 2003, Faun. Abh. Staatl. Mus.
