Rana vitrea Bain, Stuart, and Orlov, 2006, Copeia, 2006: 49. Holotype: FMNH 258182, by original designation. Type locality: "Laos, Phongsaly Province, Phongsaly District, Phou Dendin National Biodiversity Conservation Area, collected on a stream bank near Nam Khang River in hilly evergreen forest, near 22° 09′ 04″ N, 102° 12′ 19″ E, 600 m elevation".

Comment
Related to Rana archotaphus (now in Amolops) according to the original publication. In the Amolops monticola group of Stuart, Bain, Phimmachak, and Spence, 2010, Herpetologica, 66: 52-66.
