Most similar to Amolops loloensis and Amolops viridimaculatus according to the original publication. Biju, Mahony, and Kamei, 2010, Zootaxa, 2408: 44, suggested on the basis of the original descriptions that this taxon is a junior synonym of Amolops caelumnoctis but refrained from making the synonymy pending specimen examination.
