Amolops medogensis Li and Rao In Zhao, Rao, Lü, and Dong, 2005, Sichuan J. Zool., 24: 251. Holotype: SYNU 04II6217, by original designation. Type locality: Medog, Xizang Autonomous Region, China.

English Names

Medog Torrent Frog (Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2010, Colored Atlas of Chinese Amph.: 411; Li, Zhao, and Dong, 2010, Amph. Rept. Tibet: 56).

Distribution

Known only fron the region of the type locality (Medog, Xizang Autonomous Region, China); presumably in adjacent Arunachal Pradesh and possibly to Myanmar.

Comment

Most similar to Amolops afghanus and Amolops macrorhynchus [now = Odorrana chapaensis, DRF] according to the original publication. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 3: 1553-1555, provided an account, figures, and range map, and included the species in their Amolops chapaensis group. (Given that Amolops chapaensis has been reassigned to Odorrana, one presumes that the generic assignement of this species should be reevaluated—DRF.) Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2010, Colored Atlas of Chinese Amph.: 410, provided a brief account including photographs. Li, Zhao, and Dong, 2010, Amph. Rept. Tibet: 56-57, provided an account for Xizang, China.
