Distribution
Widespread in isolated populations in southern Shaanxi, southern Gansu, eastern Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Hunan, and Fujian, China. (See comment regarding records from Yunnan, China.)

Herpetol., 9: 86, provided the Vietnam record, although Bain, Stuart, and Orlov, 2006, Copeia, 2006: 55-56, suggested that these records should not be accepted until the specimens are compared with Amolops daorum and Amolops cucae. In the Amolops monticola group of Stuart, Bain, Phimmachak, and Spence, 2010, Herpetologica, 66: 52-66, who also suggested that nominal Amolops chunganensis may be a species complex.
