Poyntonia paludicola Channing and Boycott, 1989, Copeia, 1989: 478. Holotype: PEM A1600, by original designation. Type locality: "southern slopes of the Steenbras Mountains in the Kogelberg Forest Reserve (34°14′S, 18°52′E)", Cape Province, Rep. South Africa.

Distribution
West areas of the southern part of the Hottentots Holland and Kogelberg Mountain complex, as well as the Klein River Mountains in the southwestern part of the Western Cape Province, Rep. South Africa, 200-1800 m elevation.
