Comment

Without discussion, placed in Phrynobatrachinae (Phrynobatrachidae of this list) by Dubois, 2005, Alytes, 23: 17. Frost, Grant, Faivovich, Bain, Haas, Haddad, de Sá, Channing, Wilkinson, Donnellan, Raxworthy, Campbell, Blotto, Moler, Drewes, Nussbaum, Lynch, Green, and Wheeler, 2006, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 297: 1-370, did not study this taxon and noted that although it likely is imbedded phylogenetically within Phrynobatrachus. Scott, 2005, Cladistics, 21: 531, provided evidence from morphology that Ericabatrachus is within the Cacosterninae. See account, photograph, and map for Ethiopia by Largen and Spawls, 2010, Amph. Rept. Ethiopia Eritrea: 200-202.
