A, 19: 942, where it had been placed by Loveridge, 1955, Rev. Suisse Zool., 62: 130. Rödel, 2000, Herpetofauna W. Afr., 1: 140-141, provided an account. See brief comments by Rödel, Bangoura, and Böhme, 2004, Herpetozoa, 17: 105-106, regarding range and natural history.
