Ptychadena mapacha Channing, 1993, S. Afr. J. Zool., 28: 142. Holotype: SM, Windhoek, SMW 26145, by original designation. Type locality: "Mapacha (Mpacha), in the eastern Caprivi, Namibia, 17° 38′ S/ 24° 10′ E".

Distribution
Known only from the type locality (eastern Caprivi, Namibia), presumably in adjacent Zambia, and Botswana, possibly to western Zimbabwe.
Comment
Most similar to Ptychadena schillukorum according to the original publication. See accounts by Channing, 2001, Amph. Cent. S. Afr.: 328, and Du Preez and Carruthers, 2009, Compl. Guide Frogs S. Afr.: 310-311.
