Phrynobatrachus parkeri De Witte, 1933, Rev. Zool. Bot. Afr., 24: 97. Syntypes: MRAC 36504-05, 2698-2706, according to A.G.C. Grandison in Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 448. Type locality: "Mauda" and "Kunungu (Lac Leopold II)", Dem. Rep. Congo.

Type localities (west-central and northeastern Dem. Rep. Congo).

Comment

See account by Inger, 1968, Explor. Parc Natl. Garamba, Miss. H. de Saeger, 52: 96-101, who noted its similarity to Phrynobatrachus acridoides. Not addressed by Zimkus, Rödel, and Hillers, 2010, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 55: 883-900, so presumably in their group C.
